Lizards, squirrels, snakes, etc.... Most of all a mother black bear and get two cubs came through while we were eating lunch on trail. It was amazing to be only 50ft away from them

Eric, have you read anything about the hikers who were swept over the waterfall at Yosemite? I was wondering if you were in the same area and what barriers they may have
had to go around.

It does sound accidental, but stupid. You can't protect people from themselves.

I was surprised when I visited Niagara Falls, how close to the falls river bank access is. There may be a cable or something before the falls but I don't remember. I suspect
there are a number of suicides, but they are widely reported to stop copycats.

its complete stupidity... 100%. the river is 20ft wide, 6ft deep and class 10 equivalent rapids... signs, chains, barriers that say dont go past here or your pretty much dead...

scary scary water flow, its talked about constantly by the rangers, signs everywhere. not a single reason it should have happened.

I figured as much. The first reports sounded to "casual", they were cooling their feet.

From what I know of the parks, it would have be labeled as you say.

Chlorinating the gene pool.
