My son & I had been hunting Ind where I grew up & the deer have been going nuts for about 3 weeks, He toook a 14 pointer last week in Indiana, but I took him out today for the Ohio youth season, this morning we saw at least 15 does & tonight we saw 6 does, no bucks. Every doe in Ind. had a buck chasing her(and almost ever one of them was grunting), he might of only been a spike buck, but every one we saw had a buck escort. 1 doe was bleating so much, I thought it was a calf, till she jumped out of the brush with a 8 point behind her.
So long story short is the rut over here, or does it just come later??????

Thanks, but my son finished up Ohio today. He past on a small 8 pointer this morning, Then we had a doe walk about 20 yds out & 1/2 hour later she had a nice 9 point come in on her trail & he shot it at 25 yds & it dropped 20 yds later, shot through the heart. So now were looking for a place to hunt in Ky. Just for him, I'm not hunting, if anyone knows of some place, let us know. Thanks. Troy
