I am looking for info about coyote hunters. I woke up to coyote calls last night and saw 4-6 coyotes running through my yard (we live in the middle of ~300 acres). They are really brave. I shot off some firecrackers last night to scare them off, because my dogs were out and I didn't want to hit them. I am looking for information on the best way to kill these canids.

I hunt coyote usually as a curtesy to the farmer that lets me hunt on his property.

heres all the coyote hunting info you need Wink

http://www.predatormastersforums.com/index.shtml click on the forum section and start reading Wink become a member and start asking questions, they will answer them for you and there is a lot of guys from Ohio on there.

one way of taking them out other then hunting is trapping, the traps are out there working all the time and snares are even better if you can find the trails they are using.

I was a member on Predatormasters.com and you have to watch WHO you listen to and you have to watch WHAT you say on that Board, just in the LAST YEAR that Board has basically had a Coup'
Power Struggles and it is DAMN NEAR A Dictatorship now, they went to a Non-Profit Orginazation and the Head guy NOW Pays himself a Damn Salary !!! Plus he is a French Canadian from Hell
BUT If you want to talk to some REAL GOOD Guys, go to This Board
http://www.finsandfur.net/forums/index.php
There are some Good Guys on there and it is not ONLY a Predator Board, it is a Hunting, Trapping and Fishing Board also and no matter WHAT you Hunt, Trap or Fish for, there is someone on there to help you out
As with ANY Board, you need to be able to see through the Guys that THINK they know what they are doing, and get with the Guys that KNOW what they are doing, and Predatormasters has a LOT of the guys that THINK they know what they are doing, But PM also has some good guys also
Now on www.finsandfur.net , Most of those guys KNOW why they are talking about, and on FnF, you can actually talk OPEN and not get Bombarded with warnings like on some of the OTHER Boards
I like FnF.net a Million times better than Predatormasters
I just started Coyote Hunting about 4 Months ago, But I am starting to get the Coyote "Bug" and I am starting to Learn much more about Coyotes than I use to know, I have had a few come in, but did not have Good Shots because it was at 10 PM and it was harder to see at night
Give Finsandfur.net a Look and I am SURE you will like wht you see and you will learn many different things
Ohiyesa

I forgot to Add, there is a HUGE Difference in hunting Eastern Coyotes and Western Coyotes, the MAJORITY of the Members on Predatormasters are Western Hunters, where as the Majority of the Members on FNF.net are Midwest AND Eastern Hunters, therefore the Information that you get from fnf.net WILL WORK in the State of Ohio and YOUR Area of Ohio
There is a Member on there that goes by the Nicname of KeeKee, and his Real Name is Brent Saxton, he is a VERY Knowledgable Coyote Killer and he is from Southern Ohio, he makes Hunting DVD's on Coyote Hunting and SO FAR, his DVD is the ONLY DVD that has a lot of Instruction on Coyote Hunting and NOT just a lot of Kill Shots with NO Helpful Info on it, and KeeKee makes some TOP NOTCH Predator Calls and he also uses an electronic Caller also
A BIG Thing with Brent is he WILL help you out and he can and WILL put things into Starter Terms for us Coyote "Rookies", so we are NOT lost
There are quite a few Knowledgable Hunters AND some REAL NICE Call makers on there that can answer ANY QUESTION that you or me may have, look the site up, it doesn't cost a dime but the Knowledge you will gain is PRICELESS !!! Very Happy
Also remember, the Coyote is the HARDEST Animal to hunt in Ohio
Sure, you may take a Coyote while Deer hunting, but to Target the Coyote Specifically, nd to take Coyotes on a Regular basis's is the HARDEST thing to do, at least in Ohio and Stark County where I Hunt

I live in the Boonies of Ohio
