My family and I enjoy going hog hunting in other states. I see we have some concentrations of hogs down in Southern Ohio and wondered if there are decent populations of hogs on public ground. I would live to spend a weekend early spring(before turkey season) hunting for those pigs. Can anybody shed some light on this subject?

DNR website addresses this issue with problematic hog areas detailed. Good luck hunting hogs in Ohio I hunted a particular hog for 4 years in Southeast Ohio. He was harvested by a bowhunter hunting whitetails and weighed 375#
In God We Trust everyone else take the hunter safety course.

If you have a link could you provide it please. I looked on the DNR website and can't find anything about Hogs, not even under nuisance species.

I know one wildlife officer that wont tell you where the hogs are, he wants them for himself . I have asked him on numerous occasions where they are and he says their aint any here. the sad part is according to the map, they are with in a 30 minute drive from here, but if you can't get a starting point from the WO, whats the since in knocking on doors to find them, I cant afford the gas to do it.
personally I don't think the state wants them shot, they are looking at them as more $$$ for the state, once they get a big herd of them in the state, like the southern states.
DONT STEAL, the goverment doesn't like competition
