'bout 4 to 5 weeks away fellas, shroom hunting goes hand in hand with turkey scouting!!!! I have already dug out my calls, checked my gear and.....got out the onion bags!!!!! I plan on hunting long and hard this year and pick every shrrom I see in sight !!!! As always please post your mushroom hunting results as to what type, when and , you all know me your GPS co-ordinates of where you found them !!!!! Rolling Eyes

Seriously post area that you found them, i.e far southern Ohio, Richmondale "area" etc.. with date when you found them, what time of day and whether or not you found blacks, grey, whites etc....

I agree that this year is looking good. Now if spring will do its part. I will do mine by spreading the spoars around while walking to the next spot.

Just enjoying the preparation.

Honestly I do not know if the spoars will spread after I pick them or not. But just in case I use a sacks that allow air to flow through.

Just enjoying the preparation.

I believe they do spread, I have been into public areas where I used to hunt every spring and find them quite plentiful, then I started noticing people hunting the area and using plastic grocery bags where the spores do not fall out of and the harvest went down dramatically !!!! I talked to others that hunted the areas as well and they noticed the same thing. I always use a mesh bag that allows the spores to fall and I continue every year to find hundreds in my main patch, so I belive it does make a huge differnce.

uber poster

I am going to hunt for them this year. I have never found any before. scoured My property, and nothing anywhere. I will hunt state gounds this year and would like to hookup with some others that know what they are doing. I love the taste of breaded morrels with salted butter carefully drizzled on top. Yum Yum. I might even take some that I find and carry them around the banks of my creek. Maybe I can migrate some to there. Mike
