Hey all I'm new here and I was just wondering if anyone knows of an ODNR Wildlife area near Central Ohio that would be good for groundhogs and/or coyote? I'm stuck living in the city and I don't know anyone with land that I can use. I know of the the wildlife listings but from what I can tell they don't really list where you can find a particular species. So if you know of a public spot that would be AR friendly and don't mind sharing the info please let me know.

to much time on my hands

best place is to get out an knock on farmers doors... few farmers will turn down a polite groundhog hunter - your online resource for hunting in ohio. Hunt Ohio, the HO Zone!

Littleking is right about that, just make sure you don't bother them while there out working in the field. While your out knocking on doors most of the time you can count on yotes near a cow or pig farm. Just ask the farmers if they see or hear any and another pointer for you is ask where they pile the dead live stock when or if they have any, that would be your best luck for finding them. Beans fields and the fields next to railroad tracks right now are great for some hog hunting. Good Luck

You guys dont know how lucky you all are.
living in Houston, I pine for the days when me and my best pal would sit down on Friday night, make about 200 rounds each over so Dunkin Donuts coffee then drive to upstate new York and dnock on doors for places to chuck.

I miss it too much.

I cant wait to get my load finished and start practicing for my trip to Ohio in 2012.
I have a 90 grain Sierra hollow point that shoots one hole with 5 shots at 200 yards, but I made it incorrectly and havent gotten it straight yet.

I hope I will get to meet some of you guys when I get there.
